Our summer was fun, but I love the structure that comes with the beginning of school. I miss the free time, but I love the routines that we fall into. Like the routine of blogging more than once a month.
Finished: Placket Sweater
I haven’t blocked this yet, which is pretty obvious if you look at it closely. I still need to find some beads to use as buttons, too. I really could have finished this much faster than I did. I like the contrasting colors, but I should have done the placket in the tan, too. I was away from home when I started the placket and couldn’t wrap my brain around how to do it without weaving in a billion ends. It’s a great pattern and chances are I’ll do another one and I think I’ve figured that part out. I used KnitPicks Swish and I’m happy with how it knit up. This will be going to a teacher at Emma’s daycare. She had an almost 9 pound baby boy a few weeks ago, so it’s a good thing I made the 6-12 month size.
Not finished: Cluaranach Stole
I really like it, though I hope I can block it quite a bit bigger when it’s all done. I’d like it wider, but I didn’t swatch, so I’m not sure how it’ll all work out. It’s great yarn (Dream in Color Baby) and one I’d use again.
I have a pretty big list of things I’d like to work on this winter. I need to finish Josh’s Cobblestone sweater before I start on anything else. That’s been on hold all summer, but we have cooler temperatures now, so I can get back to it.
